TEHRAN A Tehran University professor Dr. Iraj Malekpour, said here yesterday that an eclipse of the sun is due to happen on Monday, December 24.

According to Malekpour, the eclipse is related to the new crescent moon of Shaval. Some 27 percent of the sun will be visible when the earth, moon and the sun will stand at the same direction on December 24. The eclipse is to take place at 2117 GMT.
